The epidemiological situation in Azerbaijan is stable and there is no cause for concern.
Modern.az reports that the Ministry of Health has issued a statement on this matter.
It was stated that, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), the organization coordinates preventive and rapid response measures with various countries within the framework of International Health Regulations.
"It is noted that people usually get infected when they come into contact with the urine, feces, or saliva of rodents that are carriers of hantavirus, including by inhaling dust mixed with rodent excretions. Human-to-human transmission of the virus is extremely rare and is observed only in connection with the Andes type found in America. The Ministry of Health, keeping the epidemiological situation under control, calls on the population to refer only to official sources. The current situation does not create any additional risk for the country's population," the statement said.
