The President of the Slovak Republic will visit Azerbaijan in July.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by the Chairman of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, Richard Raši, during a joint press statement at the Milli Majlis within the framework of his official visit to Azerbaijan.
The Chairman of the National Council stated that the positive dynamics between the countries is also reflected in the intensification of high-level contacts:
“Last December, we had the honor of hosting President Aliyev within the framework of his first official visit to Slovakia. We also welcome the planned first official visit of the President of the Slovak Republic to Azerbaijan in July of this year.”
He stated that the main purpose of today's visit is to further strengthen the partnership dimension of our relations:
“The Madam Speaker and I agreed on the importance of further strengthening cooperation at all levels between our legislative bodies. Today's meeting is also a continuation of the Madam Speaker's official visit to the Slovak Republic in 2021. Parliamentary diplomacy and cooperation are of great importance, as parliaments play an important bridge between our peoples.”
The Chairman noted that the main point of today's talks was the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation between the National Council of the Slovak Republic and the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan.
“This document creates a stable institutional framework for our relations for years to come. The Memorandum forms the basis for intensive cooperation in various fields, mutual visits of parliamentary delegations, and the exchange of best practices between parliamentary administrations.”
“Within the framework of this visit, I will visit Karabakh again to see the progress of restoration work on site. I am pleased that our cooperation is also developing in other areas such as energy, defense industry, and tourism. Countries are most effectively connected when people move and communicate freely,” he said.
