The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan (MFA) appealed to citizens, urging them to pay special attention to security issues when traveling to foreign countries.
Modern.az reports that the MFA stated that the increasing tension in the existing international security environment, as well as the ongoing armed conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, remain a serious threat to international peace and security.
It was noted that cases of Azerbaijani citizens being killed or suffering various degrees of bodily injuries as a result of armed clashes and military operations in conflict zones or areas close to them are recorded. This indicates that security risks in such areas are extremely high.
The Ministry advised citizens to carefully assess the security situation before traveling to foreign countries, take into account the warnings and recommendations of official state bodies, and also refrain from traveling to areas where conflicts and military operations are being conducted.
The MFA also emphasized that the participation of Azerbaijani citizens in any form in armed conflicts and military operations on the territory of foreign countries on a mercenary or voluntary basis creates criminal liability in accordance with the legislation.
It was stated that Azerbaijan's diplomatic missions and consulates abroad continue their activities to protect the rights and interests of citizens.
The Ministry also noted that it is closely monitoring the processes related to the international situation.
