New statistics have been released regarding foreign fighters killed in the Russia-Ukraine war.
Modern.az reports that, according to research conducted by the BBC and "Mediazona", more than 3,500 foreign citizens fighting in the ranks of the Russian army have lost their lives during the war.
The research states that among the dead are 2,304 people from North Korea and 1,285 people from more than 40 countries. It is noted that citizens of countries such as Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Cuba, Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, and Yemen are also on the list.
According to the BBC, a NATO official stated that approximately 24,000 foreign fighters from 44 countries are currently serving in the Russian army.
The total number of servicemen killed on the Russian side, according to the list prepared by journalists, is shown as 233,033.
