The Ministry of Internal Affairs warned citizens about advertisements on social networks.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
It was noted that it is often possible to encounter attractive advertisements such as "brand products are sold at very cheap prices" on social networks and various online platforms: "At first glance, these offers seem extremely profitable and attractive. The Ministry of Internal Affairs warns citizens that such advertisements are mostly aimed at gaining trust by using the names of famous brands. Products are presented much lower than the real market price, and expressions such as "last chance", "limited number" create a sense of urgency in people and encourage them to make an ill-considered decision. The main purpose of such cases is to obtain citizens' personal information, especially bank card information".
The Ministry of Internal Affairs recommends citizens to follow the following safety rules:
Do not click on suspicious links
Carefully check the site address and reliability
Shop only on reliable and well-known platforms
Do not fall for advertisements and campaigns that create emotional pressure
It was noted that when encountering such cases, it is important not to react to those advertisements: "If any information has already been entered or a suspicious transaction has occurred, immediately inform your bank and law enforcement agencies. Remember, careful behavior on online platforms is the most reliable way to protect the funds in your account".
