Former Armenian Minister of Internal Affairs Vahe Ghazaryan is being considered as a possible candidate for the post of Minister of Defense.
Modern.az reports, citing Armenian media, that the “Hraparak” newspaper published this information.
According to the newspaper's sources, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has not dismissed the current Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan. The reason for this is that a suitable candidate for his replacement has not yet been identified.
According to the information, against this background, Vahe Ghazaryan is negotiating with Pashinyan about his possible appointment.
It should be noted that Vahe Ghazaryan held the post of Minister of Internal Affairs of Armenia since 2023. He resigned from his post in July 2025.
