Opposition leader Elene Khoshtaria in Georgia has been deprived of liberty for a period of 1 year and 6 months.
Modern.az reports that the politician has been held accountable for writing “Russian Dream” with a marker on the pre-election banner of Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze. The damage incurred is reported to be 570 lari.
According to the information, Khoshtaria did not attend the court session and declared that she “does not recognize any branch of government.”
Her lawyer called the verdict “completely illegal.” The Prosecutor's Office, however, stated that the presented evidence was sufficient.
It is noted that approximately one year remains until Khoshtaria's release.
