Citizens in Bulgaria will go to the polls for the 8th time in the last 5 years.

Modern.az reports that voters in Bulgaria, who want to emerge from a period of political instability that has lasted for the past 5 years, will participate in the voting tomorrow.

14 political parties and 10 alliances are participating in the election in the country, which has approximately 6.5 million registered voters.

Voters will be able to cast their votes from 07:00 to determine the new owners of the 240 seats in parliament.

Voting will end at 20:00, but if there are voters waiting in line, this period can be extended until 21:00 at the latest.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) announced that a total of 493 polling stations will be established in 55 countries abroad.

In Turkey, where the largest number of Bulgarian citizens live abroad, 20 additional polling stations will be set up in addition to diplomatic and consular missions, and a total of 7 polling stations will be established in diplomatic missions in Ankara, Istanbul, Edirne, and Bursa.

In the United Kingdom, where the Bulgarian diaspora is dense, 12 polling stations will be set up outside London and 8 in London.

On the other hand, the CEC announced that polling stations will not be established in some countries in the Middle East for security reasons.

Recent public opinion polls show that at least 5 political entities can cross the 4 percent election barrier.

According to the polls, the "Progressive Bulgaria Coalition" created by former President Rumen Radev is in first place.

Other political forces expected to enter parliament include the Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) Party, the We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria (PP-DB) Alliance, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, the Revival (Vazrazhdane) Party, and the Bulgarian Socialist Party.

The voter turnout in the last snap parliamentary elections held in Bulgaria on October 27, 2024, was 38%. Recent polls suggest that this time voter turnout could be between 50-60%.

In the 240-seat parliament, the support of at least 121 deputies is required for the government to gain confidence.
