"Joint feasibility studies for the railway line connecting Saudi Arabia and Turkey via Jordan and Syria are planned to be completed by the end of 2026."

Modern.az reports, citing "Al Arabiya" TV channel, that these words were said by Saudi Arabian Minister of Transport Saleh al-Jasser.

The minister noted that joint work on this project is already underway, and the goal is to strengthen transport links between the countries of the region.

Turkey's Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu had previously announced that the construction of the "modern Hejaz railway" project, which will connect Turkey, Syria, and Jordan, is planned. According to him, this route is intended to be extended to Saudi Arabia and Oman in the future.

If the project is realized, it will be possible to transport goods from Jordan to Turkey via Syria, and from there to Europe and Central Asia. This aims to directly connect the Red Sea region with the Mediterranean Sea and Europe.
