The Russian Foreign Ministry called on foreign countries to evacuate their diplomats from Kyiv in advance.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
She stated that the warning from the Russian Ministry of Defense was given precisely in response to the statements of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense called on Kyiv residents to leave the city. The ministry warned that if Ukraine tries to prevent the celebration of May 9 - Victory Day, the Russian army will launch a massive missile strike on the center of Kyiv.
“We are not acting from a position of aggression, we are acting from a position of inevitable response to aggression. The statement of the Ministry of Defense dated May 4 and our subsequent actions should be perceived exactly this way,” Zakharova emphasized.
She added that this warning should not be silenced and should be taken very seriously.
