Pakistan is trying to persuade the US and Iran to declare another 60-day ceasefire.
Modern.az reports with reference to "Anadolu" agency that Islamabad believes that the parties can reach final agreements on the settlement of the conflict during this period.
"The parties are exchanging messages through Islamabad to form an initial framework before announcing the resumption and extension of direct talks," one of the agency's sources said.
According to the information, Washington and Tehran agreed not to resume strikes against each other, despite the fact that the previous 60-day period stipulated in the memorandum ended on August 16.
At the same time, Iran's ambassador to Turkmenistan, Ali Mujtaba Ruzbehani, stated that the US is putting pressure on Oman, which is why that country could not sign an agreement with Iran on the Strait of Hormuz. The ambassador emphasized that the United States' desire to control the Strait of Hormuz is unacceptable and contradicts international norms.
It should be recalled that a little earlier it was reported that Iran and Oman had reached an agreement on sharing the revenues obtained from ensuring shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
