The Bulgarian parliament has elected Rumen Radev as the country's new prime minister.
Modern.az reports that Radev, the leader of the "Progressive Bulgaria" coalition, which won the snap parliamentary elections held last month, was confirmed as prime minister as a result of a vote in parliament.
The vote was broadcast live on the website of the National Assembly of Bulgaria.
In the vote, 124 deputies (the "Progressive Bulgaria" coalition) voted in favor of Radev.
36 deputies (GERB-SDS bloc) abstained. 70 deputies voted against (including the parties "We Continue the Change", "Movement for Rights and Freedoms", "Revival" and the coalition "Democratic Bulgaria")
Thus, Radev was elected the new prime minister of Bulgaria by a majority vote in parliament.
