Terrorists based in Afghanistan attacked a police post in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Modern.az reports that this information was included in the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Pakistan regarding the submission of a strong demarche to the interim charge d'affaires of Afghanistan.
"The interim charge d'affaires of Afghanistan was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today to submit a strong demarche regarding the cowardly attack carried out by "Fitna-al-Khawarij" terrorists using a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device on the Fateh-Khel police station in Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on May 9, 2026. As a result of the attack, 15 police officers were martyred, and four people, including one civilian, were injured," the statement said.
It was noted that a detailed investigation, collected evidence, and technical intelligence data regarding the incident indicate that the attack was organized by terrorists based in Afghanistan:
"Pakistan's serious concern about the continuous use of Afghan territory for terrorist attacks against Pakistan was once again emphasized, and it was strongly brought to the attention of the Afghan side that Pakistan reserves the right to respond decisively to those who committed this barbaric act."
It was also emphasized that the continued presence of various terrorist organizations in Afghan territory and the favorable environment that allows their activities have been thoroughly documented in the reports of the UN Monitoring Group and other international organizations.
"Combating terrorism is a common goal, and the Afghan "Taliban" must adhere to its commitment not to allow its territory to be used for terrorist purposes against other countries," the statement highlighted.
It was also recalled that a constructive dialogue was held with the "Taliban" through the mediation of friendly countries: "However, the Afghan "Taliban" has consistently failed to commit to or implement serious and verifiable measures against these terrorist groups.
The regime in Afghanistan has been informed that if they continue to harbor terrorist organizations, Pakistan will not make any concessions on the issue of its national security, as well as the security of its citizens."
