South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has called on world countries to take urgent and coordinated steps to prevent the further spread of the Ebola virus in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda.
Modern.az reports that Ramaphosa made this statement as the African Union's representative for pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response.
It was stated that the current situation requires unity and prompt action from African countries and the international community.
"Early detection, timely information, and decisive action are vital to prevent the epidemic from turning into a wider regional crisis," Ramaphosa emphasized.
He praised the work done by the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, the health services of the African Union, and the World Health Organization in the fight against Ebola.
