Deaths have been recorded in Turkey due to a virus spread by tick bites.
Modern.az reports that a total of 6 people in Sivas and Tokat provinces have fallen victim to the tick-borne virus.
According to the information, one of the deceased was a 60-year-old livestock breeder living in Poyrazalan village of Artova district in Tokat. Although he applied to a medical institution with complaints of high fever, the treatment did not yield results. The patient, who was later transferred to a clinic in Sivas, was diagnosed with Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF). Despite all efforts by doctors, his life could not be saved.
It was stated that the person's attempt to remove the tick himself led to the worsening of the situation and the development of complications.
Officials advised the public to be cautious and especially those engaged in agriculture to act carefully.
