The number of victims of the strong earthquake in Venezuela has increased to 4,490.
Modern.az reports that the chairman of the National Assembly (parliament), Jorge Rodriguez, announced this on his "Telegram" channel.
According to the report, 16,740 people suffered injuries of varying degrees, and another 17,907 residents were left homeless.
190 buildings were completely destroyed, and 856 buildings were seriously damaged. Within the framework of search and rescue operations, 6,462 people were rescued, and 32,401 people received medical assistance in hospitals and treatment facilities. 120,794 families were supported, and 9,995 tons of food were delivered to the disaster zone.
It should be noted that underground tremors shook Venezuela on the evening of June 24. Two tremors with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5 were recorded with an interval of approximately 40 seconds. The epicenters of both earthquakes were located 10 km from each other in the state of Yaracuy.
