The 1/4 final fights of the Boxing World Cup held in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, have ended.
Modern.az reports that all 4 athletes of the Azerbaijani national team who entered the ring at this stage qualified for the semi-finals.
In the 50 kg category, Subhan Mamedov defeated Rudolf Garboyan (Armenia). The opponent could not continue the fight due to injury. Mamedov will face Anvarjan Khodjiyev (Kyrgyzstan) in his next match.
Nabi Iskenderov (70 kg) won his third consecutive victory. He eliminated Farukh Tokhtassunov (Kazakhstan) in the 1/4 final – 3:2 (29:28, 30:27, 29:28, 27:30, 28:29). Iskenderov will test Kaian Reis (Brazil) in the semi-finals.
Saidjamshid Jafarov (75 kg) defeated Sanjar-Ali Begaliyev (Kazakhstan). Our boxer defeated his opponent with a score of 4:1 (30:27, 29:28, 29:28, 28:29, 29:28). On the way to the final, he will fight Gabriel Guidi Rontani (Italy).
Mahammad Abdullayev (+90 kg) also won his next victory. In the 1/4 final, the national team member, who scored all 3 rounds, gave no chance to Luka Pratljačić (Croatia) – 5:0 (30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27). He will fight Omar Shina (Norway) in his third match.
