During his speech at the opening ceremony of the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), President Ilham Aliyev spoke about the ancient places of Azerbaijan.
Modern.az reports that the head of our state said in this regard: “Today Baku preserves its historical appearance. Gabala, Shaki were capitals and were among the centers of Caucasian Albania. There are many historical monuments. The church in Kish village of Shaki is perhaps one of the oldest churches in the world. The talent of our ancestors is also evident in the village of Lahic. In the century when the village was founded, a sewage system was built, and it still works today.”
