Pope Leo XIV called on Russia to stop attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure and noted their humanitarian consequences for the civilian population.
Modern.az reports that Pope Leo XIV stated this in a post on his social media account.
The Pontiff emphasized that new attacks, especially considering the drop in temperature and the increased demand for electricity and heating systems, cause serious harm to the civilian population.
"In Ukraine, amidst intensifying cold weather conditions, new serious attacks on energy infrastructure are causing severe harm to the civilian population. I pray for those who suffer and once again demand an end to violence and increased efforts to achieve peace."
