Seismologists have recorded an earthquake of magnitude 5.6 in the Kuril Islands.
Modern.az , citing Russian media, reports that this was stated by the "Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk" seismic station of the regional branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The tremors were recorded at a depth of 423 km below the seabed, 214 km north of the village of Reidovo on Iturup Island.
