Fars News Agency reported that an Iranian supertanker, capable of carrying up to 2 million barrels of oil, successfully passed through the Strait of Hormuz and entered the country's territorial waters.
Modern.az reports that, according to the information, the sanctioned vessel passed the route with its identification system open and did not attempt to hide.
Earlier, Bloomberg also reported that a China-linked tanker named “Rich Starry” had passed through the strait.
It should be noted that the head of the US Central Command stated today that the American side allegedly “stopped maritime trade in the Strait of Hormuz and in the opposite direction for 36 hours.”
Washington had previously announced a naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
US authorities state that these measures are related to Iran's nuclear program and demand control over enriched uranium.
