Both chambers of the British Parliament have approved a bill banning the sale of tobacco and e-cigarettes to citizens born after 2008.
Modern.az reports that "The Guardian" published information about this.
According to the publication, British Secretary of State for Health and Social Care Wes Streeting explained the issue as follows: "Prevention is better than cure. This reform will save lives, reduce the burden on the National Health Service and build a healthier Britain."
In England alone, smoking leads to 400,000 hospitalizations and 64,000 deaths per year. The National Health Service spends 3 billion pounds sterling on the treatment of tobacco-related diseases such as cancer and heart disease.
