An unmanned aerial vehicle has fallen on the territory of an oil base located in Rezekne, Latvia.
Modern.az reports that the Latvian State Police issued a statement about this.
According to the information, the fall of one of the drones on the territory of the oil base has been confirmed, and the search for the second unmanned aerial vehicle continues. The third drone is reportedly likely to have left Latvian airspace.
Latvian Defense Minister Andris Spruds stated that, according to initial assumptions, these are unmanned aerial vehicles directed by the Ukrainian side at targets in Russia. The minister emphasized that this version has not yet been confirmed and investigations are ongoing.
Guntars Skudra, chairman of the regional council, confirmed to the LETA agency that one of the unmanned aerial vehicles fell on the territory of the Rezekne branch of the “East-West Transit” company.
According to the information, the drone crashed into an empty oil reservoir. No injuries or serious damage were reported as a result of the incident.
