Intensive negotiations between the US and Iran are nearing the final stage.
Modern.az reports with reference to foreign media that a possible agreement between the parties envisages a cessation of war on all fronts, including Lebanon, ensuring free navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, and unfreezing Iran's frozen assets worth 25 billion dollars.
It is reported that negotiations on Iran's nuclear program are also planned to begin 30-60 days after the agreement comes into force.
Regarding the details of the agreement, a high-ranking Iranian official told Reuters that Tehran would not agree to hand over highly enriched uranium. According to him, at the current stage, the issue of the nuclear program is not part of the agreement at all.
US President Donald Trump made a harsh statement regarding the negotiations.
"I instructed my representatives conducting the negotiations not to rush. The blockade will remain in full force until an agreement is reached, approved and signed. Iran must understand that it cannot develop or acquire nuclear weapons," Trump said.
The Iranian side, in response, emphasized that it would not give up highly enriched uranium, would not dismantle nuclear facilities, and would not relinquish control over the Strait of Hormuz.
"These are fundamental conditions for us and we will not compromise under any circumstances," the Iranian side noted.
