Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has instructed the country to prepare for the continuation of hostilities for the next two to three years.

According to the publication, some Ukrainian officials believe that the country can maintain its stability in a long-term conflict. However, it is noted that a prolonged confrontation could lead to internal consequences, including increased militarization and difficulties in combating corruption in the military sphere.
“The Economist” also recalled the statement of Russian President's press secretary Dmitry Peskov on May 13. Peskov stated that before starting peace talks on Ukraine, the Ukrainian Armed Forces must withdraw from the territories of Russian regions. He also emphasized that the talks would be complex.
It should be recalled that in June 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced his conditions for a ceasefire at a meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He demanded the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions, the recognition of these regions as Russian territory, the lifting of sanctions, and Ukraine's acquisition of neutral status.
