“I will file another lawsuit, because yesterday, after my interview with ‘Armenia TV’ channel, they claimed that I allegedly confirmed that 300,000 Azerbaijanis would return to Armenia or be brought and settled here.”
Modern.az reports that these words were said by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a briefing on May 28, while speaking about the “Strong Armenia” party and its leader Samvel Karapetyan.
“I will file the third lawsuit regarding this issue. This time we are facing an open television interview, and it is even clearer that Samvel Karapetyan must make the third apology. If he has already started to worry about the cost of the lawsuit, then the rumors about the scale of his wealth are greatly exaggerated,” Pashinyan added.
Pashinyan also touched upon an audio recording, stating that it even talks about a “coup” if he wins the elections.
“Armenia's law enforcement and institutional system is sufficiently formed to prevent any coup attempt at its initial stage,” the head of government emphasized.
Parliamentary elections in Armenia will be held on June 7. The pro-Russian opposition leader, head of the “Strong Armenia” bloc, Samvel Karapetyan, who is trying to overthrow the government, has directed all his efforts to discredit Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in the eyes of the Armenian public.
Samvel Karapetyan is trying to keep the “300,000 Azerbaijanis” claim on the agenda. In every meeting with voters, he claims that “Nikol Pashinyan has undertaken an obligation before Azerbaijan regarding the return of 300,000 Azerbaijanis.”
