US President Donald Trump's personal physician announced that the head of state is in "excellent health" and is fully capable of performing his duties as commander-in-chief.

Modern.az reports, citing foreign media, that the final opinion on this matter was published by the White House after Trump's regular medical examination at the National Military Medical Center.

This was the president's third in-person medical examination in the last 13 months. According to the published memorandum, Trump underwent a comprehensive medical check-up covering his cardiovascular system, lungs, vision, and other organ systems.

According to the president's physician, Sean Barbabella, the results of the examinations were generally normal. It was noted that Trump had mild swelling in his lower extremities and bruising on his hand. The doctor attributed this to frequent handshakes and taking aspirin for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases.

The report stated that the president, weighing 108 kilograms, has a resting heart rate of 73 beats per minute.

Trump also underwent neurological examinations and cognitive tests. According to the doctor, the president demonstrated normal indicators, scoring 30 out of a possible 30 points.

Barbabella stated that Trump takes medications to control cholesterol and prevent cardiovascular diseases. It was also emphasized that the president adheres to the schedule of preventive examinations and vaccinations.

The doctor recommended that the head of state follow a diet, increase physical activity, continue to lose weight, and take low-dose aspirin.

In recent years, Trump's health status has been in the public spotlight. In particular, the bruising observed on his right hand and his tired appearance at some public events caused discussions. The White House had previously explained these instances by frequent handshakes and the use of blood thinners.

Previously, the administration announced that Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, which causes swelling in the legs and is not considered life-threatening.

Donald Trump, who will turn 80 in June, is considered the oldest person to assume the presidency in US history. Trump himself has repeatedly stated that his physical and mental condition is excellent.

After the last medical examination, he shared on social media that the examination "went perfectly" and no problems were found.

The president's physician emphasized that Trump continues to show good indicators in his cardiovascular, respiratory, and nervous systems and maintains his overall physical health.
