NATO's decision at the Ankara summit to grant Ukraine a license to produce American "Patriot" missiles within its borders has caused alarm in Russia.

According to Modern.az, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that granting such permission to Ukraine means NATO is threatening Russia. Peskov accused NATO of taking an aggressive step and said that this forces Moscow to become stronger and continue its policy.

In an interview with "Vesti" TV channel, Peskov said that the Russian leadership and relevant agencies are taking all necessary measures to ensure the country's security. According to him, these measures also include defense against "Patriot" anti-aircraft missile systems.

According to Peskov, NATO has been an alliance aimed at confrontation since its inception and remains committed to that mission today.

He stated that NATO's main rival was initially the Soviet Union, and then its legal successor, the Russian Federation, and this approach has not changed.

Peskov emphasized that the Russian leadership and the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces know well what steps should be taken to defend the country, and all necessary measures are being implemented to protect national interests.
