Windy weather has left more than 7,000 consumers in Lithuania without electricity, and due to weather conditions, ship traffic in the Klaipėda State Seaport has been restricted.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Yan Vaitkevich, a representative of the Hydrometeorological Center, on the air of LRT national radio.
"After nightfall, 5.5 thousand consumers were left without electricity. However, nature did not calm down in the morning either; hurricane-force winds continued to blow. The number of affected consumers reached 7.1 thousand", he noted.
The wind speed reached 31 meters per second. The storm delivered a powerful blow to the western part of the country. The management of the Klaipėda Seaport was forced to restrict ship traffic. Wave heights exceeded 5 meters.
