Zoya Sergeyevna Dorodova, one of the first members of the "Buranovskiye Babushki" collective that represented Russia in the "Eurovision" song contest, has passed away.
Modern.az reports that Aleksandr Deyev, head of the Malopurginsky district of the Udmurt Republic, made a post about this on the "VKontakte" social network.
He described Dorodova's death as a great loss and extended his deepest condolences to her family and loved ones.
The 85-year-old artist had withdrawn from stage activities in recent years and was living in her native village. It was reported that she passed away from cancer.
It should be noted that Buranovskiye Babushki was a folklore collective from the village of Buranovo in Udmurtia. The group represented Russia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 with the song "Party for Everyp" and was awarded second place. Later, changes occurred in the collective's lineup, and the original members continued their activities under the name "Babushki iz Buranovo".
