61 individuals for evading military service have been detained

During a raid conducted in St. Petersburg, law enforcement agencies identified 61 individuals who had acquired Russian citizenship but evaded military service obligations.

Modern.az reports that the Press Service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region disseminated information on this matter.

It was stated that inspections were carried out at the vegetable market located on Sofia Street and at the distribution center of a large retail network on Moscow Highway.

According to the information, a total of over 700 individuals were checked during the raid, approximately 500 of whom were foreign citizens. During the inspections, 30 illegal migrants were identified, taken to police departments, and held accountable for violating migration legislation.

“Special attention was directed towards individuals who had acquired citizenship. It was determined that 61 of them had evaded military service obligations. For the prompt resolution of the issue, these individuals were handed over to representatives of military commissariats,” the statement noted.
