Ghalibaf noted in his social media post that economic resistance is the main tool to weaken US influence. He claimed that certain restrictions have been imposed on the US financial system.
The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament also touched upon Scott Bessent's statements regarding the activation of some currency swap mechanisms. According to him, these steps are aimed at preventing the “disorderly sale” of US assets.
Ghalibaf stated that these measures could limit the ability of some institutional investors to sell US bonds and indicate increased sensitivity in financial markets.
He added that if market conditions worsen, these restrictions could be further tightened, and this situation demonstrates increased risks for investors.
