Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif commented on the US decision regarding the "Freedom Project".
Modern.az reports with reference to foreign media that Shahbaz Sharif welcomed the decision of US President Donald Trump by sharing on his social media account.
"I am grateful to President Donald Trump for his courageous leadership and timely statement regarding the temporary suspension of the "Freedom Project" in the Persian Gulf. This positive response of President Trump to the request of Pakistan and other brotherly countries, especially Saudi Arabia and my dear brother Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, will make an important contribution to the development of regional peace, stability and dialogue in this sensitive period," Sharif said.
The Prime Minister also emphasized Pakistan's commitment to diplomacy in the continuation of his statement:
"Pakistan strongly supports all efforts that promote peaceful resolution of conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy and restrained behavior. We hope that the current dynamics will lead to lasting peace and stability in the region and beyond."
It should be noted that some time ago, US President Donald Trump also announced the temporary suspension of the "Freedom Project" in a social media post. He stated that this decision was made taking into account the request of Pakistan and other countries, as well as the progress made in negotiations with Iran.
