Son of Hamas leader killed in Gaza
Modern.az reports with reference to foreign media that Azzam al-Hayya, the son of Khalil al-Hayya, one of the Hamas leaders in Gaza, has been killed.
According to information disseminated by media outlets close to Hamas, Azzam al-Hayya died during an airstrike on the Ad-Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City.
Israeli media writes that if the information is confirmed, this will be Khalil al-Hayya's second son killed during Israeli army operations.
Thus, in September 2025, his other son, Humam al-Hayya, also lost his life as a result of a strike on the Hamas leadership headquarters in Doha, the capital of Qatar.
It is noted that Khalil al-Hayya survived that attack and is currently represented in Hamas's collective leadership operating abroad. This leadership was formed after the organization's former leader, Yahya Sinwar, was killed.
