US President Donald Trump said that the issue of supplying 12 billion dollars worth of weapons to Taiwan has been suspended for now, depending on relations with China.
Modern.az reports that Donald Trump made a statement to "Fox news" after his talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Trump noted that Washington is currently keeping this issue as a backup option: "I'm keeping it in reserve for now, and everything depends on China. Frankly, this is a very good trump card for our side in negotiations."
It should be noted that the issue of US arms sales to Taiwan has been one of the main topics of tension between Washington and Beijing for many years.
