According to the information, this indicator is comparable to the number of ships passing through the strait daily before the conflict - before the US and Israel started military operations against Iran.
It should be noted that on February 28, it was reported that the US and Israel started military operations against Iran. As a result of the attacks, large cities of Iran, including Tehran, were targeted. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that it carried out a large-scale operation in response, striking Israel. At the same time, it was reported that US military facilities in Iraq, Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, UAE and Saudi Arabia were also targeted.
In addition, Tehran announced that it has closed the Strait of Hormuz for ships associated with the US, Israel and countries supporting them. Approximately 25 percent of the world's oil trade and 20 percent of liquefied natural gas are transported through this strait.
In mid-June, as a result of negotiations between Washington and Tehran in the Swiss resort of Bürgenstock, mediated by Qatar and Pakistan, a memorandum of understanding was signed providing for the cessation of military operations. The parties stated that the basis for the next technical negotiations has been created.
