At least 8 ships attempting to leave the Persian Gulf along the coast of Oman have turned back in the last 24 hours.

Modern.az reports with reference to Bloomberg that this is another signal that the resumption of movement through the Strait of Hormuz is still difficult and Iran's attempts to control the main waterway continue.

According to ship tracking systems, a number of vessels, including oil tankers, cargo ships and car carriers, moved in the direction of the Strait of Hormuz. Some suddenly turned back after reaching the narrow passage of the Musandam Peninsula.

Later, a crude oil tanker, two oil product tankers and a cargo ship moved north along the route directed by Iran. Tehran has repeatedly stated that ships must pass through the strait only by the route it allows.

Recently, ships attempting to leave the Persian Gulf have reported hearing radio warnings from Iranian forces and that Tehran's permission is required to pass through the strait.

The risk level for tankers is considered critical in terms of the normalization of the global oil market. According to market data, an average of 34 ships pass through the strait per day, which is an increase compared to the war period, but still below the pre-war level.
