The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that approximately 90 military targets were hit in Iran during subsequent strikes.

Modern.az reports that the command's statement said the purpose of the strikes was to further weaken Iran's ability to attack commercial ships and civilian mariners in the Strait of Hormuz.

It was noted that the targets of the attacks were Iran's air defense systems, coastal reconnaissance equipment, missile and unmanned aerial vehicle depots, naval facilities, as well as military-logistical infrastructure located along the Iranian coast.

According to CENTCOM, a day earlier, the US army struck 80 more military targets in Iran. Among those targets were more than 60 small boats belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The US side considered this a response to Iran's attack on three commercial ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, violating the ceasefire regime.

President Donald Trump said that Iranian representatives contacted him after repeated strikes by the US army on the country's territory and expressed their desire to reach an agreement.

CNN reported this.

"They called me a while ago, they really want to reach an agreement. I just don't know if they deserve such an agreement," Trump told reporters while returning on the presidential plane after the NATO summit.

The US has resumed strikes against Iran in response to the shelling of ships in the Strait of Hormuz over the past two nights.

Trump warned that if Iran attacks commercial ships again, the US military will launch stronger strikes.

"If they do it again, the consequences will be more severe for them," Trump wrote on Truth Social on Thursday night.
