The Main State Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued a warning regarding the expected foggy weather conditions.
Modern.az reports that, in the department's appeal, it was stated that according to information from the National Hydrometeorology Service, due to foggy weather, visibility on roads is expected to be limited to 500-1000 meters:
"It is known that foggy weather significantly limits the driver's field of vision, which creates conditions for road traffic accidents with a high degree of severity, including chain collisions.
The Main State Traffic Police Department currently, taking into account the increase in the number of people heading to regions, recreation and tourism areas during holiday periods, requests drivers embarking on journeys to reduce speed limits to a minimum during foggy, misty weather, to maintain a greater following distance, to ensure the proper functioning of external lighting devices, and to strictly adhere to safety rules during overtaking, maneuvering, stopping, standing, and parking".
