Kuwaiti security forces announced that they prevented a diversion attempt by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (SEPAH) on Bubiyan Island.
Modern.az reports that four members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps were detained during the incident. One Kuwaiti soldier was wounded during the shootout.
According to the information, the group entered the strategically important island by fishing boat and planned to carry out "hostile activities".
Kuwaiti officials stated that the detained individuals confessed to the charges in their initial statements. Two more people allegedly involved in the incident are reportedly being sought.
Following the incident, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Iranian ambassador. Official circles assessed the incident as a serious threat to the country's national security.
