On the occasion of Eid al-Adha in Azerbaijan, holiday prayers were performed in various mosques across the country.
Modern.az reports that religious figures and hundreds of citizens participated in the ceremonies held in places of worship located in the capital and regions.
In Baku, the Eid prayer was performed in the Ajdarbay mosque in the morning. The prayer ceremony organized in the Tezepir mosque was led by the chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade.
During the prayer, prayers were recited for the prosperity of Azerbaijan, the continuation of stability and peace in the country, and the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland was commemorated.
It should be noted that Eid al-Adha in Azerbaijan falls on May 26-27 this year.
