Abnormal heatwaves observed in Belgium have led to the highest death rate recorded since 2000.
Modern.az reports with reference to foreign media that 1747 people have died this year as a result of the heatwaves.
In Brussels, the air temperature reached 35 degrees for several consecutive days, and in some regions, it reached 38-40 degrees. Due to the intense heat, working hours have been reduced in some places.
Meteorologists say that a new heatwave is expected in Belgium in the coming days.
