Turkish intelligence has disclosed a top-secret document related to Iran's late supreme leader Ruhollah Khomeini.
Modern.az reports that the National Intelligence Organization (MIT) has published a "top secret" document dated November 11, 1964.
The document describes the period when Ruhollah Khomeini, the leader of the Iranian revolution, was in exile in Turkey.
The document states: "The Iranian guest has arrived in Turkey and his placement in Bursa has been arranged. The guest's accommodation and other matters will be personally organized by the Bursa Migration Department. All necessary instructions in this regard have been conveyed to the Bursa Migration Department in writing and orally. The pseudonym 'belli' will be used in all encrypted correspondence related to the guest," - as noted in the letter from Ziya Selişik, the head of MIT at the time.
It should be noted that Khomeini, after being detained in Iran during the Shah's regime in 1962-1963, was exiled to Turkey with his son Mustafa on November 4, 1964. He was first brought to Ankara, and after staying there for some time, he lived in Bursa for 7 months under MIT's supervision.
According to information, Khomeini stayed in Bursa at the home of MIT employee, Colonel Ali Çetiner, who knew Persian.
