The 8th European Political Community Summit is being held in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia.

Modern.az reports that the Georgian delegation led by Irakli Kobakhidze will also participate in the summit.

In total, about 50 delegations, including heads of state and government, and international organizations, are expected to participate in the event.

The highlight for Azerbaijan is related to the panel discussions to be held within the framework of the summit. Thus, in the panel entitled “South Caucasus at a turning point: prospects for peace and cooperation”, Rusif Huseynov, director of the Topchubashov Center from Azerbaijan, Serdar Kılıç, Turkey's special representative for the normalization of relations with Armenia, Ruben Rubinyan, vice-speaker of the Armenian parliament, Magdalena Grono, the European Union's special representative for the South Caucasus, Lasha Darsaliya, deputy foreign minister of Georgia, and others will participate.

On May 6, a panel discussion will be held on the topic “Geopolitical turmoil in the Middle East: global consequences and secondary effects”. The discussions will focus on the regional and global impacts of the situation around Iran and the Strait of Hormuz.

It should be noted that the European Political Community was established in 2022 at the initiative of Emmanuel Macron. The main goal of the platform is to strengthen political dialogue and cooperation in the field of security among European countries. The Union includes 27 EU members, as well as Great Britain and 19 other non-EU states.
