US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a final decision to start a war with Iran during their phone conversation on February 23.

According to the publication's sources, during the phone conversation, Benjamin Netanyahu informed Donald Trump that Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his advisors would gather together on the morning of February 28. The Israeli Prime Minister later stated that this would allow them to be killed with a single strike.
According to "Axios", Donald Trump was already planning to attack Iran, but had not made a final decision on the start date of military operations before the phone conversation with the Israeli Prime Minister.
It was also noted that, in fact, the US and Israel had considered launching military operations against Iran a week earlier, but postponed the plan due to various reasons, including bad weather conditions.
On February 26, Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and special envoy Steve Witkoff called the US president after hours of talks with the Iranian delegation in Geneva, informing him that the negotiations had reached an impasse. Axios adds that on the same day, the Central Intelligence Agency fully confirmed Benjamin Netanyahu's information about the planned morning meeting of Iranian officials. Sources noted that Donald Trump gave the final order to strike Iran on the afternoon of February 27.
It should be noted that on the morning of February 28, the US and Israel struck Iran. More than 50,000 US soldiers are participating in the battles. According to Brad Cooper, head of US Central Command, since the beginning of the military operation, the US army has struck more than 2,000 targets. In response to the military operations, Iran began striking Israel and US military bases in the Middle East.
