Iran has significantly expanded its operational control zone in the Strait of Hormuz.
Modern.az reports that Rear Admiral Mohammad Akbarzadeh of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced this.
According to him, the zone of influence of the Iranian Navy has been increased 10 times. If previously operational control was limited to a narrow 30-mile area between Hormuz Island and Hengam Island, Iran has now expanded the strait's borders to 200-300 miles.
The new control zone is said to cover the waters from Jask city to Siri Island and then westward.
