As a result of the latest strikes by the US on Iranian territory, 14 people have died and 78 people have been injured.

Modern.az reports that this was stated by the spokesperson of the Iranian Ministry of Health, Huseyn Karmanpur.

According to him, while the ceasefire agreement was in force, the US launched strikes on five provinces of Iran on July 8 and 9, 2026.

"As a result of these attacks, 14 people lost their lives and 78 people were injured. Currently, 47 people are receiving treatment in hospitals, while other injured people have been discharged home after receiving medical assistance," Karmanpur wrote on his official account on the social network X.

It should be recalled that on the night of July 8, the US army launched a series of powerful strikes against Iran. The US Armed Forces Central Command (CENTCOM) explained this as a response to Iran's actions against commercial ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

In response, Iranian military announced that they had launched strikes on US military bases in Bahrain and Kuwait. Tehran accused Washington of violating the memorandum on the cessation of military operations.

US President Donald Trump announced yesterday that the ceasefire between Washington and Tehran had ended. Tehran, in turn, announced that it had suspended negotiations on a final settlement.

On the night of July 9, the US again launched strikes on Iran. In response, Tehran targeted US bases in the region. IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) warned that it would expand the geography of strikes if Washington continued the attacks.
