At least 27 people have died and 63 have been injured in a fire at a bar in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.
Modern.az reports, citing foreign media, that the incident occurred on July 12 at an entertainment venue called Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao in the northern part of the city.
According to preliminary information, the fire was caused by a short circuit in the air conditioning system.
According to the information, the condition of 22 of the injured is assessed as serious.
According to witnesses, after the fire started, numerous visitors ran to the back of the building - to the area where the kitchen and restrooms were located. However, during the evacuation, the emergency exits were partially blocked, preventing people from leaving the building in time.
According to the BBC, most of the dead are believed to have died from smoke inhalation.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
