Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghai accused the US of the situation in the region.
Modern.az reports that, according to Baghai, “the US has been lying from day one” and Washington is trying to disrupt safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz by provoking regional countries. The Iranian official stated that these actions of the US violate Article 5 of the memorandum of understanding and jeopardize shipping safety in the region.
Baghai noted that US policy leads to actions that threaten stability and security in the Strait of Hormuz.
