The Azerbaijani delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev is in Yerevan.
Although the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has provided information about this, it has not yet disclosed the details of the visit.
Most likely, Shahin Mustafayev visited Yerevan to participate in the meeting of the State Commissions on the delimitation of the state border between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
It should be recalled that the parties are represented by Deputy Prime Ministers Shahin Mustafayev and Mher Grigoryan as chairmen of the State Commissions.
Modern.az reports that some Armenian media outlets have once again paid special attention to the persona of Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev.
The Armenian press once again reminded that Shahin Mustafayev was born in Armenia and attended secondary school there.
It should be noted that Shahin Mustafayev is originally from the village of Jujavan in the Noyemberyan region of Western Azerbaijan (present-day Armenia). He was born in that village in 1965.
The Armenian press had previously claimed that Shahin Mustafayev could speak Armenian well.
For example, the “Iravunk” newspaper published in Yerevan once interviewed Anush Aleksanyan, who taught Shahin Mustafayev in secondary school. His former teacher claimed that Shahin Mustafayev knew Armenian well.
“He studied at the school in that village until the 9th grade. He studied the 9th-10th grades at school No. 2 in Noyemberyan city. After that, they moved to Yerevan. He studied at Yerevan State University until the third year,” Anush Aleksanyan said about Shahin Mustafayev.
The information in “Iravunk” noted that Anush Aleksanyan taught not only Shahin Mustafayev but also his three sisters.
Shahin Mustafayev, however, has never touched upon the topic of knowing Armenian in his statements to the Azerbaijani media and has not clarified the claims. His official biography also does not indicate that he knows Armenian.
In his biography published when he was the Minister of Economic Development, Shahin Mustafayev was indicated to know Russian and English.
